It was a kind of special day which makes your heart sing and on that very special place there was a very special energy, giving you the urge to sleep and stay. It remembers me of those Irish fairy tales of people falling asleep in nature and taken away into the fairy world only to return a few hundredths of years later. Such a place it was, out of time and place, out of the ordinary.

Inside the water of the ocean on the rocks there are so many tiny white dots, which seem to give light like stars, especially on sunny days. Blue en brown walnut ink on aquarel paper 50 x 40 cm.
A rainy day time to look at my photo collection, study Spanish and think about future possibilities.
Janay took us on a little hiking tour in the forest to look for mushrooms. We, three women, needed 4 hours for a 5 kilometre walk, chatting and often lying on our knees to capture the beauty of the mushrooms. It was wonderful to have plenty of time to experience the wealth of this subtropical autumn forest with all our senses.
Intense working all day long. Two painitings with alnut ink on canvas 60 x 50 cm and 70 x 50 cm. Not sure what side should be up. I am still looking at them from all directions. The colours on the screen look different then they are in reality. In reality it is more earthy and not shining but mat. I washed most of the paint off from my painting from the day before yesterday. It was not what I wanted, will continu tomorrow because there is not enough light anymore and I still have to do my shopping.
Mixed media on canvas 60 x 50 cm. Did work a very long day on this canvas. In the morning there was that jubilating mood, with the sun shining and the birds singing. I remember why I wanted to come to this island just for seeing the light of the sun on the sea. I rember the beautiful reflection the joy about the abundance of colours and lines when the sun is shining on the water and the colored rocks full of life shimmer trought the water surface which transforms every thing. I remember I song I wrote when I was a teenager about water. I used walnut ink today together with acrylic for the bright blue colour which doesn't exist in natural pigments, and pastel to make the lines. Hope the cockroaches are not as keen on these materials as they are on my egg tempera. ![]() This one is fom yesterday also in mixed media on canvas 60 x 50 cm. |
