This afternoon after waking up from my siësta, I found myself in a very peaceful quiet state. Outside the wind had totally disappeared, the sea did look very calm from this distance. I did some more painting listening to that quietness. Around me there were some village people with the usual noise people make, some dogs barking, a child shouting, women , chatting with each other, someone watching television, someone talking on a phone, some sheep bells far away. But yet there was a stillness a silence so very deep. I realised that it did make me feel deeply happy, it was a quiet joy difficult to describe. I did feel very much alive and anchored in being human, yet as wide as the sky above. Tempera and conté pastel 40 x 50 cm
