Since the first of November I am back in the Dordogne to continu my research in prehistoric art for the next 6 months.
Did revisit already for 2 times the cave "Les Combarelles" . What touches me is the amazing amount of gravures. Not overwhelming grandeur like Lascaux but fine webs of delicate lines and many many layers of drawings, creating in that way while herds of animals. Suddenly you get an image of a life experience where mankind is in minority and the earth is mainly populated by wild animals.
The feeling for perspective, the speaking details, the clarity of lines.
Again and again, inside the caves something start to vibrate inside, I am touched. I am so happy and grateful for being able to see this, experience this like looking in another time, sharing something with unknown others in a distant past but also in a present time. Because that kind of trembling excitement what I feel seemed to affect more people who like me come back again and again, to be there and feel that.
Do paint almost every day too, trying to translate this experience and developing a language for it, learning.
